HOMEGAME TOKYO is a select shop rooted in street culture, built around sneakers, caps, and apparel. With locations in Tokyo, Yokohama, and Osaka, the store's deep connection to music and culture flows naturally into every corner of the space. We sat down with store manager Kotani to hear his story.
Why BGM matters in a retail space
"The music changes the vibe, and that directly affects the customer experience. I want to shift what's playing depending on the weather, the season, how busy we are." For Kotani, the ability to switch tracks simply by changing a tag is a genuine relief in the middle of a demanding day on the floor.

First impression of SpaceMusic AI
"Before I even had a reaction, 'amazing' just came out." That was his opening line. The idea that a few simple selections could generate a completely original piece of BGM stopped him in his tracks. "It's not like the choices guarantee a perfect result. But the fact that it can get close — and do it with original music — that's what's impressive." Coming from someone with serious standards around sound, that kind of reaction means something.
